Collaboration is the about the integration of our ideas and a process that challenges our usual methods and preconceived notions.  It makes us look for a clear path of expression and discovery. It makes us examine what we think and forces us to develop, listen, communicate, and change.
Collaborations Ken Carder and Lisa Stinson

Joining - 2019
The idea of joining and connection was the theme of this work. The meal plate groupings supports this idea, through both the over lapping graphics as well as the personal occasion of eating with another or others.

Textere Series 2015
This series involves combining overlapping modular forms that create units.  These units, when placed together, created a large scale woven form. Our conversations about these forms and the implied metaphors range from the qualities of the fabric, our culture, an artists canvas, the interconnected networks we have as makers, people, and family.
Line Scape Series - 2010
The "idea" of landscape and geography, both physical and psychological informed this work.   Scale - how things translate both close-up and at a distance, became a context for the idea.   The building,  layering of glaze and slips and re-firing were used to record the history of the making and communicate a narrative.
